Capturing expression, however so slight, is what I love. It’s my jam!

I sculpt faces that are inspired by each person’s uniqueness, especially the beautiful individuality of the female face. I feel completely free when sculpting, and sculpt what I am drawn to sculpt in the moment. I often include contrast between realism and fantasy in my sculptures.

Once fired, my sculptures become a blank canvas to explore. I paint them to emphasize the emotion they are expressing. If they are playful, I paint them playfully with lots of color. I want people to look at my work and ask themselves, “who is she and what is she thinking?“

I sculpt with water-based clay and paint my sculptures with acrylic and metal paints. I finish them all with colored metal wax. The wax brings the luster to the piece and helps protect it.
