I grew up in the foothills of the Southern Appalachian mountains in North Georgia where I developed a love for the outdoors. I spent as much time as I could out in the forest seeking a closer connection to the natural world. I’ve always found comfort in the woods. I love to hike, kayak, and camp. It is where I feel the most at peace in the world.

I’ve drawn since childhood. My love for the graphic arts has had me explore many different types of subject matter, but I always return to nature. I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and there my love of drawing grew into a love of painting. At the age of twenty-seven I decided it was time to move west. I landed in Bellingham, Washington and discovered The Group of Seven. The work of AJ Casson has has a profound influence on my work. That coupled with the majestic landscape of the Pacific Northwest took my art on a journey that allows me to enjoy two of my favorite things. Creating beauty and connecting myself and others to the beauty that is nature.
